Happy Friday!
I went to an interesting event last night - a panel discussion about how farmers, purveyors, customers and chefs are working together to revitalize traditional farming and cooking practices by growing and eating everything on the farm. They are calling this the Nose to Tail movement. Mostly they discussed the challenges for small sustainable farms.
A selection of panelists spoke including local farmers and chefs. It was cool! Our local farmer's market sponsors these events every few months and I always try to go. It is interesting to hear from our area farmers and chefs, and to hobnob with our local food celebrities. I sat next to a popular cookbook author! :)
Before the event we enjoyed a glass of vino and a snack at a little wine bar. Gambas al ajillo and a glass of Albarino...yummy!
Have a fantastic weekend!
I wish we had more events like that here. The tapa and wine look delicious (especially the wine:)
ReplyDeleteHi Primal Mama! Thanks for your comment! You know, I am surprised that more people don't show up to these events here in LA. With our large population you would think there would be more people interested in sustainable food and that sort of thing. It's more mainstream in Northern California. We're a bit superficial down here. hehe!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
That certainly looks good.
ReplyDeleteI've had a rough couple of days in terms of eating. The Yankees just won the World Series, so pair a night in NY watching the game with the parade 2 days later and you got one rough stretch.
Time to fast tomorrow and get right back on track. Reading these primal blogs always gets me refocused.
Dan
Hi Dan! Well, I hope it was fun! :) Sometimes it's hard to get back on track, but fasting is a great way to reset I think!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!
