Turkey patties with Indian spices

Lunch today was free-range turkey patties with spinach and red onions. It was really satisfying and the onions were so sweet!

I used some Indian spice packets for channa masala to jazz up the meal. I added the spices to the raw turkey and to the spinach and onions as they sauteed. It was subtle but a nice hint of flavor.

Anyone else excited that it is cherry season? I lovvvvvvveeeee fresh cherries.

  1. Cherries are the best!! I keep waiting for the Rainier cherries...they're only around for like a week or two in these parts but they're so good. The best cherries I ever had were when I lived in Seattle and starting in May all the street vendors would pop up selling fresh cherries and strawberries that had just been picked that morning...heaven.

  2. Wow Elizabeth- that does sound like heaven! I am always excited when strawberry season starts, but then cherry season comes and I forget about strawberries and gorge on the cherries while they are around for their short season!

    Now I am looking forward to the peaches and nectarines. Yum. I think eating seasonally really changes the way we see fruits and veggies. They become so special!
