Saturday farmer's market

This morning I went to the farmer's market. So much good stuff! Last of the figs and peaches. So sad. Summer is over. We're moving on to grapes and persimmons and butternut squash...

You can't really see it but the leaves in the little baggies are kaffir lime leaves. Have you had these before? They are excellent! We have this really cool farmer - Coleman - who sells all kinds of exotic greens and herbs. I love checking out his green leafy stand and seeing what is new and different.  I'll take a photo of the bounty for you next time.

Here's where I wish I was today, floating along in a daze watching the clouds... This is my new computer desktop photo at the office! Only problem is that it makes it hard to work when staring at something so peaceful and relaxing.

Enjoy your weekend! :)

  1. I got some of the last peaches too today at my farm stand. I'm sad to see the summer produce go. Is that a pomegranate? What are you going to do with it?

  2. Hi Miss Carrie! That's a winter squash of some sort. I'm planning to cut it up and bake the chunks with some garlic and thyme I think. It's also good if you put it under a chicken as it bakes. It soaks up all the juices. Mmm mm!

I miss u! When can I come to the desert? :)

  3. That is a lovely photo, very calming. I can see how it would be difficult to focus with that on your computer all day.

  4. Hi Christina,

Thank you! I know, it is hard to concentrate on work with that photo there. I just want to run off on vacation again. haha!
